John Quartermain MSc, BSc (Hons)

Where do I start?! I am a 32 year old online personal trainer who wants to help you lose your unwanted body fat whilst building a healthy body and mind.

I have been working in the health, wellness and fitness sphere since I was 20 years old. It all started with a passion to help people and that's not changed. I was that instructor who was teaching your spin class at 07:00, chatting to you in the pool and helping you out in the weights section.

I developed as a personal trainer over this 5 year period by completing on the job training and completing my accreditation. After 5 years of working in the industry in my home town of Clacton-on-sea, Essex, UK, I decided to embark on a new challenge. This led me to London where I studied my BSc (Hons) in Sport and Exercise Science at London South Bank University, whilst still working as  a personal trainer and fitness instructor.

In this time I carried out further training in strength and conditioning workshops and was a fitness coach for a youth football team. After 3 years in London and after completing the undergraduate degree I decided to pursue a masters degree.

I moved to Liverpool in June 2015 to study an MSc in Clinical Exercise Physiology for one year, whilst continuing to work as a personal trainer and fitness instructor. 

I then returned to London in July 2016 and started my job as a Health and Wellbeing Physiologist with Nuffield Health in Canary Wharf. Here I perform health assessments, deliver presentations on health topics and follow up on clients progress following a health assessment.

I am now a lead physiologist for a large corporate programme in Canary Wharf, London. 

This is my journey to where I am now. I now provide online personal training and want to help as many busy and stressed 30 to 40 year old's as I can.

This is my professional journey but as an individual I like to:

- Travel

- I'm trying to learn Portuguese, as my partner is Portuguese

- I like to run (half marathon and 10km distances mainly)

- I enjoy training in the gym

- I am a football fan of...

- I love stand up comedy

- I'm a keen personal developer 

- I'm partial to a good read too
